House of Faith Orphanage
Asia/Pacific - ThailandHouse of Faith is an orphanage located in Chiangdao in the north of Thailand. Established in 2008, most of the children in this home are from hill tribes and are considered to be the most despised children–even more than orphans from the inner city. We provide opportunities, hope, and love to these children who would normally have few open doors in life. Children for The House of Faith are selected because they lived in abusive homes, were mistreated, lived in a very poor environment, or lost one or both of their parents.
There are currently 13 children in the orphanage. Most of them come from a family with parents who are drug addicts and who cannot support them for schooling. Some of them lived under such great pressure that they attempted suicide at a young age.
We have been able to save more than 100 children so far. One example of is the story of a 13 year girl who lived with a far distant relative. Her parents abandoned her there and rarely ever returned to visit her. When she came of age at 13, she was facing the danger of being molested by an uncle who lived in the same home. Because of this, we accepted her in the home.
