SACMercerIsaiah 40:30-31 … “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

South American Call Director Joe Mercer tells of God’s healing touch for his body:

“July 27th, I underwent ablation heart surgery—it was a success and I am feeling great, including working 12-hour days outside in 90-degree weather.

“When I was on the river earlier in the year, my heart rate dropped as low as 30 beats per minute at night, because of the heart skips. Not only was it tough, but I had to force myself to do my job. Thankfully, God was with me and guided me to the right doctor. I feel as if I’ve had several years added to the ministry God has entrusted to me. For the first time in years, I look forward to working. I was at the point that all I wanted to do was sit. Praise the Lord, all that has changed, and I feel like doing my job!

“At 70 years of age, I’m thankful to report I am once again able to fulfill the Lord’s calling. Several years ago, I plowed with oxen outside the city of Yungay, Peru, 10,000 feet high in the Andes Mountains. It is wonderful to once again have the strength to do whatever work comes to hand.

“To God be the glory, honor, and praise for it all!”
