From the pen of Dr. David M. Griffis, Director of World Missionsthanksgiving-spirit-of-gratitude

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you1 Thessalonians 5:18

Researchers at Eastern Washington University identified four primary characteristics of grateful people. People who experience the gratitude tend to:

Feel a sense of abundance in their lives.

Appreciate the contributions of others to their well-being.

Recognize and enjoy life’s small pleasures.

Acknowledge the importance of experiencing and expressing gratitude.

The spirit of gratitude should not be relegated to Thanksgiving day. As Christians, we should cultivate gratitude as part of our everyday lifestyle. We are told to give thanks in everything…sometimes that is much easier than other times! May our gratitude not be for a day but may it continue throughout the year and may we express gratitude to all those who touch our lives whether in great ways or small measures.   And may you enjoy the benefits of cultivating a spirit of gratitude!

Today I want to express gratitude for all the men and women around the world whose lives and ministries are reaching the lost and hurting. May God give you strength for each task and joy in your journey and may you know how grateful I am for you because you are a world-changer! May your Thanksgiving be filled with blessings of gratitude!
