Veteran World Missions missionary, Dr. Marc Morris, received the Alumnus of the Year award from Lee University’s Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Homecoming 2017. Morris graduated from Lee in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Professor of Psychology Dr. Robert Fisher said of Marc: “With his years of ministry to orphan children in the Philippines, Marc epitomizes our department motto of ‘Doing Unto Others.’”
In 1998, Marc and his wife, Marilen, founded Samaritan’s Place which provided food and shelter for Filipino orphan children. Today, Samaritan Inc. is also an accredited and licensed institution for adoption of Filipino orphans.
Marc is a member of the Church of God World Missions Board, as well as chairman of the Board for the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries in Manila.
Currently, Marc serves as the regional superintendent for the Church of God in Austral Asia, where he oversees the COG in Australia, Fiji, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and the South Pacific nations.
