A Greeting of Peace
In the 10th chapter of Luke, Jesus sends out his followers with clear instructions; As you enter a home, first say, “Peace be to this house.” Understanding the importance of first impressions, Jesus taught his laborers that the word peace was powerful and that greeting would open the doors they were to walk through. Despite the chaos this world has offered up this year, missionaries for the Church of God have continued to labor for the harvest and give the decisive word, “Peace” to this world. Let’s celebrate these men and women who have extended this word peace, regardless of the obstacles, with our support.
Since its beginning in 1974, World Missions’ Christ Birthday Offering has given the gift of peace to the weak and hurting who experience desperate times throughout the year. This past season, you have given over $500,000 and have made a way where there was no way, feeding pastors and their families during world-wide lockdown. However, there are many more needs to be met. The pandemic isn’t over, as many countries with inadequate medical facilities have no choice but to continue limiting personal contact, close businesses, and eliminate jobs.
During this season of peace, we ask you to prayerfully consider giving $20.20. One hundred percent of your gift will bring peace by offering assistance during natural disasters, relieving unexpected burdens for missionaries, and serving orphans and widows. The prophet Isaiah said He would be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and the Prince of Peace.” Thank you for helping us introduce the Prince of Peace to our world!
