Working in cooperation with World Missions, Serving Orphans Worldwide focuses on changing lives through education.
Administrator John Sweet says that quality education can be a powerful agent for building stronger communities and bridges out of poverty for those orphaned in Tanzania. As the number grows of orphaned and abandoned children, their communities become less capable of addressing their basic needs, including accessing education.
Education is more than the gift of knowledge. It allows the children to acquire skills to effectively advocate for themselves and provide a way from the cycle of illiteracy and poverty. A recent United Nations survey shows that Sub-Saharan Africa leads with the highest rate of children dropping out of school in the world.
The orphaned girls in Tanzania are facing another challenge. The security wall around Bethsaida Home for Girls recently collapsed. Many of the girls experience severe trauma, because this wall made them feel safe and secure. An amount of $1960 is needed to repair the wall.
Thank you for praying for Bethsaida Home for Girls, the partner homes, orphanage directors, house parents, and the children. Many of the situations the children face seem impossible without God’s supernatural intervention.
