Christian was appointed as a teacher in 1980 at the European Bible School (now known as European Theological Seminary) in Germany. In 1984, he became a missionary intern in the Netherlands.

Chris and Kathy SwiftChristian holds a B.A. degree from University the South-Sewanee and an M.A. in English from the University of Iowa. He also obtained an M.Div from the Church of God Pentecostal Theological Seminary. Later, Christian was a trainer of church planters, evangelists, and pastors in Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. Adding to his educational expertise, he speaks four European languages.

Christian and his wife Kathy are a formidable force as superintendent of Western Europe (including Morocco and Reunion in Africa). In earlier years, Kathy pursued her calling in full-time ministry and lived in Kenya eight years, feeding and educating orphans, training widows in life skills, and training pastors and church planters. Kathy has a B.A. from Lee University and speaks Swahili. She continues to provide 1200 meals per week to orphans in Kenya, as well as providing education and aiding widows. The Swifts have trained leaders in 18 countries in Western Europe and Africa.

Christian and Kathy need to be on the field to continue effective ministry, but funding is often lean, and the FINISH Challenge is ever before them. Romans 10:14 … “How then shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?”
