The Eurasian Theological Seminary in Moscow has announced the first recipients of the Jeanette Chesser Scholarship: Galya Seliverstova and Sonya Volovatova.
Galya is from Beloretsk, Russia in the Urual Mountains. She plans to develop a creative arts ministry for young adults. Sonya comes from Zaraysk, Russia near Moscow. She is a professional pianist and intends to be a music minister. Both women are enrolled in the Mission in Profession program, which serves to help students understand the priesthood of all believers and see their profession as God’s calling.
The Jeanette Chesser Scholarship is designed to support female students who aspire to serve in church ministries. Its namesake served faithfully as a missionary to Russia until shortly before her death in 2013.
