Church planting has long been a principle of Church of God World Missions. When sending missionaries to foreign lands, it is an assured way to establish the work wherever the missionaries serve and God leads.
With the Great Commission emphasis and the innovative vision of World Missions Director Dr. David Griffis in the Send the Light to the Cities emphasis, church planting has risen to the forefront. As to the educational aspect of SL2C, one goal is to more extensively educate God-called ministers who will actively pursue the process of planting churches.
Support for World Missions educational institutions is vital, requiring prayer and substance. Also important to church planting is prayer for those who will plant churches even if we have not met them face-to-face.
I Corinthians 3:6 states: I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. Prayer is indispensable for those who plant and those who water. When you pray, God moves mountains so the joy of salvation might flow like a mighty river.
Church of God World Missions implores you: Pray for more church planters. Pray for more Apollos, who are vital to follow after the planting. Ask God to remove hindrances and attacks against the efforts to establish His church among those who need it most.
