Summer Joy Propes loved the orphans. Often when her dad, COGWM Assistant Director Dr. M. Thomas Propes, arrived home from a trip she asked him if he had met any orphans. Even though she dealt with many physical disabilities, she maintained an abiding love, care, and concern for others.
Today would have been Summer’s 31st birthday. She passed away in 2017.
Many people have asked, “How can I honor Summer?” The Church of God has more than 100 orphanages around the world. All funds raised in Summer’s memory are managed by Church of God World Missions and used exclusively for the perpetual care and support of orphaned children globally.
Through her memorial fund, Summer is still touching hearts and impacting lives. The first Summer’s House was dedicated in Thailand last year, providing children with shelter, food, and love—many for the first time in their lives. A second Summer’s House is operating in western Thailand. It is our hope to open these homes around the world to care for the orphans Summer loved so much.
