Situated in a rural area outside of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, is the Haven of Hope Orphanage. In a nation where more half the population lives in extreme poverty, it is estimated that over 5 million children are in dire need. The Church of God Men and Women of Action rebuilt a former orphanage that has become a haven for these children who are taken from the streets starving, diseased, abused, exploited, and lacking any means of education.
Sister Gladys Jimenez has served as director for Haven of Hope since its founding in 2004. The children are provided an array of services, including pastoral and psychological counseling, tutoring, vocational training, and life skills that not only will enable them to survive, but prepares them for family and vocational life after the orphanage.
