Hope House (Hogar Esperanza) is located in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Angie McInvale Altamirano founded the work in 2000. Angie started with three children, and now serves 19. The orphanage has purchased 25 acres of land and is building a new site outside of San Pedro Sula. This will greatly increase the capacity of the orphanage to nearly 100 children. Various support buildings are being constructed on the new site: school, vocational workshops, a nurse’s station, library and computer lab; as well as cottages for the residents.
From the first child until now Angie says, “Our goal is to take children from what seems like “hopeless” situations and to show them the divine plans for their lives.” The children of Hope House come from different backgrounds but similar needs; all come with a lot of hurt, suffering malnutrition, overall negative disposition. Hope changes everything!
