Jorge and Elisabeth Girón come from two strong Church of God minister’s families from Guatemala and Chile. They married in 1973 and have three adult children and two grandchildren.
Jorge and Elisabeth are graduates from the Church of God Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tennessee and PhD candidates from the Evangelical University of the Americas.
They have served as missionaries in Panama, Ecuador, Portugal, Eastern Europe and the CIS. They directed the Ministerial Development program for South America and more recently coordinated the work for Unreached People Groups, developing strategies for church planting among the first 10 unreached groups chosen by World Missions.
Today, Jorge and Elisabeth administer the Church of God work in Southern Brazil and direct the Missionary Training Center in Sao Paulo, the fifth largest metropolitan area in the world, with over 20 million people. They are dedicated to the training of leadership and developing strategies of evangelism and discipleship that may respond to the great challenges of multicultural cities in Brazil. They also carry out training courses that prepare new missionaries to work among unreached groups in Brazil and around the world.
