Through a series of events in 2013, Raeghan Bryant was presented the opportunity to go on a mission trip. It was on this trip she began serving as a short-term volunteer with Bread of Life Orphanage and Feeding Centers. During this trip her life turned down a road she never expected to find herself, and God planted a deep passion in her heart for the people of Romania.
She was raised in a family with several generations of Church of God pastors and has been serving in the church as a volunteer since she was 15 years old. Growing up in church listening to the amazing stories of redemption where God moved in people’s lives, she developed a desire in her heart for a God-written story. She knew He created her for a purpose and wanted His plan to prevail.
Raeghan obtained her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her master’s degree in Holistic Child Development from Lee University. In pursuit of this calling she felt the Lord had placed on her life, she continued to work with Bread of Life through short-term trips between school semesters.
In April 2019, she will step into the role of Youth Development Coordinator with Bread of Life Youth Transition Program in Bucharest, Romania. Her role is to bring education, love, and discipleship to the children and youth of Bread of Life through a mentor relationship as well as developing programs for the purpose of improving positive youth development. The Youth Transition Program is key to establishing a family model and to nurture the family relationship within Bread of Life. The youth receive supervision and structure as they complete their secondary education and job training. They each have the opportunity to attend and participate in church, and receive guidance from our staff on relationships, money management, and additional skills needed to live as independent adults. Raeghan is excited to step into this role with Bread of Life and humbled by the opportunity God has placed in front of her.
“I always knew God had called me to serve others but through recent years had wondered how He would use me. I am so excited about beginning this journey and humbled by the opportunity to pour into the children and families of Romania.”
