Anchor of Hope Ministry
Latin America - HondurasLocated in San Pedro Sula and Potrerillos, Honduras, Anchor of Hope Ministry is a multifaceted ministry that serves some of the most vulnerable children, families, and communities through:
- Hope House – a home for orphaned, abused, and abandoned children
- Hope Christian Academy – K-9 school that provides scholarships for children who otherwise would be deprived of a quality education
- Hope Fountain – clean water distribution/evangelistic program for the local community
- Hope Kids – children’s evangelistic ministry
- Hope Missions – evangelistic/humanitarian outreach to rural communities
After the ravishing Hurricane Mitch swept over Honduras, it left behind great destruction, death, and displaced children and families. Hope House home for children emerged to serve as a refuge for orphaned, abandoned, and abused children. Since its opening in 2000, as a response to the many needs of the surrounding community (both spiritual and physical), the home for children has grown into a more comprehensive ministry: Anchor of Hope.
One of the most beautiful experiences is watching children’s lives be transformed. Children should be carefree, full of zeal for life, and with a glimmer in their eyes. Unfortunately, that is not the case for many. Children come into our home full of hurt, fear, and physical and emotional wounds. Through much prayer, love, and meeting of their needs, we have the privilege of seeing children’s once hopeless and vacant eyes transform into eyes that beam with hope and joy.
