Glenda Doggett
Latin AmericaI am currently serving on the Island of Roatan, Honduras as the Regional Supervisor for the English District of the East Territory of Honduras. I also am the Lead Pastor of the Church of God in Bodden Bight, Roatan.
God began dealing with my heart about missions in 1986. I was invited on a mission trip in October of 1986 by my Pastor, Donald Denmark. While on that mission trip I was asked to come and work with longtime missionaries, Frances Arch and Betty Timmons. From those divine encounters, I came full time to the mission field in January 1993 working in the mission school as a teacher/director and as English director of a bilingual school on Roatan as well as an associate pastor.
As Regional Supervisor of the English District of the East Territory of Honduras I work with pastors and Vessels of Mercy Clinic. I also assist in the CIMS program as I continue to pastor. My heart remains with discipleship, mentoring, and reaching our youth for Christ.
Perhaps the most lasting memorable event was God putting me together with a 10-year old boy who in less than a year became my son. God transitioned him from a village in Santa Barbara, Honduras to San Pedro, Honduras under the care of Angie McInvale Altamirano and El Hogar Esperanza. From a shy, frightened, hungry little boy, he graduated from the Bible Institute in Siguatepeque and then La Cosecha University in San Pedro Sula with a degree in pastoral counseling. He is now the Campus Director for Anchor of Hope Ministries in Portrerillos aldea above San Pedro Sula.
God is changing lives one child at a time.
