FACES stands for “Fighting Against Child Employment Services.”  We are a unique ministry that focuses on a specific social issue: child labor.  This issue is directly linked to the cycle of poverty in Ecuador. Our goal is the progressive eradication of child labor.

Also known as Niños con Destinos in Ecuador, our programs include a spiritual emphasis, prayer, and Bible lessons.  All our work outside of Quito is being done in the framework of the public schools.  We emphasize the importance of staying in school and not dropping out as a strategy to slow down the immigration of the youth to the cities to work. This helps turn the tide on child labor.

FACES has been in operation since 2003 and is honored to be named a Preferred Faith-Based Organization by the Ecuadorian government and featured by President Moreno in an event to promote the International Day Against Child Labor.  Through our efforts and the work of others, child labor in Ecuador has fallen from one million child workers in 2003 to around 380,000 nationwide.

Because of this outreach, thousands of children, youth, and adults have prayed to receive Christ as a result of evangelistic campaigns and the day-to-day teaching.  Additionally, hundreds of disadvantaged youth have been helped to graduate from high school. Many are the first in their family to ever earn a high school degree, and some are the first from their entire village to graduate.
