Sylvia C. King, We Remember
May 18, 2022World Missions Director Dr. David M. Griffis and Assistant Director Dr. M. Thomas Propes extend their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Sylvia King, wife of former North and Central Africa Field Director Edwin King. She passed away at the age of 83 in Cleveland, Tennessee, on May 17, 2022, at a local residency.
A vivacious and energetic individual, Sylvia was the daughter of deceased missionaries Hoyle and Mildred Case who served in India and Cuba. She graduated from Lee Academy in 1957; attended Lee University; West Coast Bible College; University of California at Sacramento; and again at Lee University graduating with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Sylvia was listed in the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities with a 3.62 GPA.
Sylvia faithfully and diligently served alongside her husband in their missions calling. Only eternity will reveal her steadfastness and contributions to the cause of evangelization.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 2 PM at Westmore Church of God. Family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
