Missionary Evangelists Charles and Mavis Thornton are connected with a clown team in Costa Rica, and because of the association, community outreaches are primarily geared toward children. This year was one of their best in the Central American country … no major hurdles to overcome. Working with four churches over four days, 230 children and eight adults received Jesus as Savior.
Another connection for Charles is a non-denominational Pentecostal church in Rwanda, Africa. He will soon go to Rwanda to teach for several days 21 pastors about discipleship and leadership. The pastor contacted Charles and asked for special prayer as the country enters its dry season. Families in the church do not have jobs and depend on what they can grow to survive. Many face starvation at this time of year and some will not make it. One suggestion to help is for bicycle taxis to be purchased for the families to use as a way to earn money for purchasing food. Charles provided them enough funds for each of the ten families in the church to have a bicycle taxi.
